Our skilled team can help you with:

Earthing System Design & Modelling

Mitton ElectroNet specialises in the design and safety analysis (touch, step and earth potential rise) of new and existing earthing systems.  Detailed design, specifications and installation drawings are prepared.  Design and evaluation is carried out using industry accepted software CDEGS™, developed by Safe Engineering Services & Technologies (Canada).

Earth Grid Testing

To complement our earthing design services, comprehensive on site earth grid injection testing is carried out.  In many cases it is preferable to test rather than model complex or indeterminate earthing systems. Injection testing is well suited to large sites such as transmission substations and power stations and enables measurement of touch, step and transferred voltages, EPR contours and impedance.

Testing is carried out using low current off-frequency injection methods using a portable solid state injection unit and tuned voltmeters, developed by Mitton Instruments Ltd.  Current is injected into the earth grid at 58 Hz, which enables the test signals to be isolated from any other noise or interference on the earthing system (such as 50 Hz and harmonics).
